What’s Brewing: The Perfect T.E.N. Podcast!

I’ve started a podcast about video games, movies, books, and other topics in geekery and nerddom with friends over at KIR Reviews called The Perfect T.E.N. Podcast!

We aren’t on itunes yet, but you can listen to the first episode here!

Audio quality isn’t too great yet, but we’re working on fixing that.

What’s Brewing: Phantasy Star Online 2

For those of you who read my entry on TERA (I have a few readers, I know you’re out there!), you know I mentioned my nostalgia for a game called Phantasy Star Online quite a bit.  I heard mutterings of a sequel by Sonic Team being on its way, but I was under the impression it would be a Japan-only title–not wanting to get my hopes up for a game I’d probably never get to play, I shied away from much of the news about it.  Now, PSO2 may continue to be a Japan-only release, but this week I stumbled upon three bits of news that had me unexpectedly jumping out of my chair with pure joy.

What’s Brewing, The Secret World: a game I want to play but probably never will

The latest MMO endeavor by Funcom (Age of Conan), The Secret World is one of the newest mmorpgs to enter the market with a fresh, modern spin on the genre. Full of guns, chainsaws, urban legends, secret societies, and conspiracies, TSW is a game I’m reluctant to pass up (if only to see an mmo title play out in this gritty, modern world); unfortunately, I can’t justify paying for another monthly subscription…

The Brews: E3 2012 Dead Space 3 Game Demo

This series has always been one that’s on my list of shame (games that I haven’t played but should).  I’m always curious to try games from the horror genre, but lack the constitution to get through them.  I tried playing Amnesia earlier today and it was rough.  Dead Space 3 definitely looks a bit less terrifying than the previous games and a bit more action-packed, which has me hoping that I’ll actually be able to get through it.  Drop-in/drop-out co-op seems promising as well.  And oh yeah, doesn’t it look like Dead Space 3 is doing Lost Planet just a bit better than Lost Planet 3?

The Brews: E3 2012, Ubisoft teases brand new IP “Watch_Dogs”

My mind was blown when I watched this trailer.  Honestly, I was a bit underwhelmed with E3 press in general until the Ubisoft presentations and then Watch_Dogs was just the icing on the cake for me.  I’m definitely getting a bit of a Bladerunner vibe with some cyber-punk mixed in.  Check it out and see what Ubisoft has in store for you!

The Brews: Humble Indie Bundle V

The new humble indie bundle was released a few days ago.  With titles like Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, Limbo, Psychonauts, Amnesia, and being able to name your own price with profits going to charity, this is a difficult offer to pass up (I know I couldn’t).  And oh yeah, they throw in Bastion if you pay over the average.  There’s 10 days left to purchase it.  What are you waiting for? Get it now and get it here

The Brews: Skyrim Dawnguard DLC Official Trailer

I’ve only recently had the time to dive down the rabbit hole (does that sound dirty?) that is Skyrim, but I’m sure after some time spent in its winter wonderland I’ll be itching to do some vampire slaying in this first wave of official DLC for Bethesda’s hit game Skyrim.
